A veteran bass player in this industry of over 20+ years, Wayne has footprints ranging from a variety of bands, such as The Mighty Groovers to Miriam Wright to Signature Live to Proper Utensils. And now while the timing is right, he’s finally come forward with a project of his own that embodies the experiences he’s gathered from the roads he’s traveled. It’s simply entitled “A Childhood Dream”.

A Childhood Dream, the first project from the collaboration Da.Bass.ics, is the brainchild of instrumentalist Wayne Davis. This amassment of musicians and vocalists has been hand selected by Davis for their specific parts on each designated track based on each individual's style and delivery in an effort to translate his feelings to music and this dream to fruition.

He has deep roots in funk, jazz, R&B, gospel and go-go, that can be felt in his live playing and recordings. He has been playing music since age 8 and got his first bass at age 14. His biggest musical influences are Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Donnie Hathaway. However, his biggest influences on bass are Larry Graham, Marcus Miller, Aaron Mills (of Cameo fame), the late James Jamerson and two of the greatest bassists from the D.C. area, Mike Neal and the late Glenn Ellis.
